Shepshed Dynamo manager to depart at the end of the season

Shepshed Dynamo have confirmed that Damion Beckford-Quailey will step down as manager following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Beckford-Quailey will end a six-year stint in charge of Dynamo, which began in June 2018.

Under his tenure, he guided the club to promotion to the Northern Premier League in 2021.

Shepshed Dynamo are currently 14th in the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division and have two fixtures remaining against AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Sporting Khalsa.

In a statement, club chairman Mick Sloan said: "It’s been a pleasure working with him over the years, finally achieving our initial goal to get back to Step 4 three seasons ago.

"I’d like to thank him on behalf of everyone at the club for his efforts, not just pitch side but off the pitch too.

"Many people don’t understand the time and effort it takes outside of matchday to make things work.

"I wish him all the best in whatever he does next and I know he’ll keep in touch with many at the club."

Taking to social media after news of his departure was confirmed, Beckford-Quailey said: "[It is] a very difficult decision for me personally, to stand down from a cub I've played for and managed, and one I have a huge amount of respect for.

"I have nothing but praise for those behind the scenes - the volunteers, the fans who have been amazing, and the chair and committee who have always supported me and the team.

"Of course it goes without saying that I wish all at Shepshed well. I have had some wonderful times at the club and [they] are part of my football family.

"Whoever comes in has a great platform to build on, and I wish them well. Thank you for everything."

The club have announced that interviews for the vacant managerial role will begin the week commencing 6th May 2024.
