Ron Sithole joins brother at FC United of Manchester

FC United of Manchester have signed ex-Gillingham forward Ron Sithole for the 2025/26 season.

He is the brother of current FC United forward Gez, who joined the club last October and went on to feature 24 times in all competitions for the club before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in mid-April.

He will be joined at Broadhurst Park by a very familiar face in brother Ron, who last featured for Southern Counties side Whitstable Town.

A former Gillingham first-year professional, Sithole joined Whitstable in November following his release from the Football League side.

He went on to write his name in the Oysters history books a matter of months later by scoring the winning goal in last season's FA Vase final - Whitstable's first-ever honour in the competition, on their maiden trip to Wembley.

"It feels good to sign for the club," he said.

"I've always wanted to move up north and play football, so to find something here is great.

"I was speaking to my brother, and he said that the fans are amazing, the players, the staff - everything is good here.

"I want to hopefully play one day with my brother, so I thought that it was a good fit for me.

"The lads are amazing and have really helped me. It's not just about finding a new football team, it's a whole new area for me.

"I'm ready to hit the ground running. For the team, it's all about getting promoted."

FC United have already made a number of eye-catching signings during the summer, including former Warrington Town goalkeeper Dan Atherton and experienced ex-Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom.

Their new campaign begins at home to Leek Town on August 9.
