Club was formed in 1885.

In 2016 relegated from the Southern League after several disappointing seasons.

In 2022 Lee Bircham was appointed manager and under his management Town won the Beds Senior Cup and the following year gained promotion back to the Southern League as Spartan South Midlands League Champions. Bircham left the club to join Bedford Town. Gary Flynn and Gary Chance were appointed after leading Newport Pagnell to 2 FA Vase Finals .

After a season and a half in the higher level Town decided a change of management was required and

CPaul Reed agreed to take on the post. The Club had a good run of 15 unbeaten games in his first season and finished in 7th plac

Season 2025/2026 was highly successful and saw saw Leighton win the Southern League Division 1 Central with 100 points and scoring over 109 goals. The Club was unbeaten at home in both League and Cup games.

Our promotion will offer new challenges in a very strong Premier Division with some excellent sides
