Comedy Nights Return To Arriva

Marine to bring back successful events.

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine have announced the return of the successful comedy nights starting next month on Thursday 6th October 2011.

Two further nights, in the build up to the end of the year, are also planned for on the 3rd November and 1st December, both the first Thursdays in the month, with all shows taking place in the College Suite at the Arriva Stadium.

Compere and comedian Brendan Riley returns after a short holiday break to host the first show on the 6th October featuring comics Roger D and Chris Stokes both making their debuts at Marine. Doors open at 7:30pm with the show starting at 8.45pm. Tickets cost just £7 and can be obtained from the clubrooms at Marine FC any evening and weekend daytimes. Enquiries can be made by calling 0151-924-1743.

Roger D is an international comedian and actor who has traveled the world with his rapid fire, thought provoking, no prisoner taking, in your face comedy at its most British best. This giant maverick explores faith, race and why women can’t stop talking in a routine that is a delight with a casual chat up style and great timing.

Chris Stoke’s calm laid back demeanor, combined with a hilarious and erudite turn of phrase, has seen his act flourish in the last year in many venues across the country. Equipped with superb material and a style to match his act is both extremely funny and original.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“After a short break during the holiday season we are delighted that the comedy nights are returning to Marine. The first show with Roger D and Chris Stokes next month will be absolutely hilarious and must not be missed. We have already booked the dates for the shows in November and December and look to continue to build on the successful return of our regular monthly comedy nights through to the end of the year. The nights are staged in a really friendly, informal atmosphere and with such quality acts we have some great nights ahead.”

Marine event organiser Dave McMillan added:

“The return of the comedy nights to Marine is providing huge interest and I would advise that tickets are bought in advance from the Clubrooms. At just £7 they remain really good value as these are great nights with lots of fun in addition to providing opportunity to meet other fans of the comedy circuit.”
