The 20-year-old, who spent 10 years with the academies at Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday before joining Frickley Athletic in 2015, became the fifth summer signing of new Taddy manager Michael Morton on Saturday.
Appointed in May as the successor to Billy Miller after stepping down as his number two last summer, Morton has already seen Jason Stokes, Sam Akeroyd, Danny Frost and Pete Davidson put pen to paper at the i2i Stadium.
Morton said: "Jake is a big athletic midfielder who is capable of playing a number of roles for us. Along side that he has a real hunger to keep developing his game which is perfect for us as a management team."
Ellam, who left EVO-STIK NPL First Division North rivals Ossett Town to sign for Morton, said: "I'm looking forward to a fresh start at a brilliant club with new challenges. I'm chomping at the bit to get going!"

Tadcaster Albion director Danny Gore said: “We have had a fantastic relationship with Hunters for a number of years now and we are extremely grateful for their sponsorship.”
