John Jones Joins League

By Tom Snee

Will act as Referees Liaison Officer

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League is delighted to announce the appointment of John Jones to the role of Referees Liaison Officer.

John joins the league team with a wealth of experience both as a referee and an administrator, having worked with the Football Association as Regional Appointments Officer for the north for many years.

In the newly created role, John will provide a link between the league, its officers, member clubs and the referees community, as well as supporting Respect Manager Phil Bradley in communicating the league's Respect initiative to the referees community.

Speaking of the appointment, League Chairman Mark Harris said, "Once we found out that John would be leaving his post with the FA, we were keen to find a role that would enable the League and its member clubs to benefit from John’s huge experience. I am delighted that we have been able to do so and that John has agreed to join us. “

“The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League regards on-field discipline as a key standard, and despite winning the FA’s league respect award two years running, there is still much to be done in this direction. John’s work will complement that of Phil Bradley by bringing referees and ourselves closer together. "
