Stamford confirm Clark, Frecklington departures

Pair set to join management team at Worksop Town.

Stamford AFC have confirmed that manager Simon Clark and his assistant Dave Frecklington have left the club following Saturday's win against Ilkeston FC.

Clark is set to be confirmed as the new manager of Premier Division Worksop Town, with Frecklington acting as his assistant in the new role.

In a brief statement released to the league last night, the Lincolnshire club said "A Directors meeting is arranged for Sunday evening to set a plan in search of suitable applicants. The Club will take the necessary time to advertise, interview and appoint our new manager.

Clark has taken Stamford to second in First Division South, just behind leaders Sheffield FC. He joined the Daniels in May 2010 after a spell as scout for Peterborough United, and had a brief foray into Football League management as the caretaker boss of Lincoln City.
