Two departures for Dolly Blues

Lancaster City have bid farewell to defender Liam Brockbank and midfielder Rob Wilson.

Sought-after Brockbank, 21, has moved to National League side Altrincham for an undisclosed fee.

A club statement said: “Brockbank had a handful of suitors and he and his agent recently expressed his wish to leave the club to play at a higher level.

“Though intending on keeping him at Giant Axe previous to those developments, the club is satisfied in negotiating a substantial fee and sell-on clause which represents his value to the side.

“The club would like to thank Liam for his contributions to the side over the last twelve months, where he demonstrated exemplary commitment to the cause every week, evidenced by the respect he quickly gained from the fans. We wish him the very best in the future.”

Midfielder Wilson has turned down a new deal with the Dolly Blues to return to former club Kendal Town.
