Ainsley’s rallying cry to North East

Spennymoor Town manager Jason Ainsley is calling on the people of Spennymoor and the North East football community to cheer them on to victory in their EVO-STIK Northern Premier League play-off semi-final against Nantwich Town on Tuesday night.

Ainsley issued his rallying cry to their local community and North East football fans to get along to the Brewery Field after the Moors finished second in the table to earn home advantage, the County Durham club rounding off the regular season with a 2-0 home win over Barwell on Saturday to collect the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division's runners-up silverware, pictured.

Now in his 10th season as manager, Ainsley has overseen three successive runs to the play-offs in the EVO-STIK NPL and is bidding for a second successive promotion following the club's success in last season's First Division North play-offs.

The Moors boss would love to repeat that achievement, starting with a win over fifth-place Nantwich Town in Tuesday's 7.45pm kick-off.

Ainsley, pictured, said: “Tuesday is a huge game and one we are really looking forward to with our home advantage. But we must make it count and have The Brewery Field rocking. We have had some massive games here over the years and the fans have always come out in force and been the 12th man. Tuesday night will hopefully be no different.

“We have had a great season after finishing runners up in the league and reaching the FA Cup First Round Proper. But we don't want to it end here because our ambition is to be in the National League North. We’ll need your support - it can make a huge difference."

If Spennymoor beat Nantwich they will host Stourbridge in the play-off final at The Brewery Field on Saturday (April 29) after their 3-2 victory over Workington in Monday night's first semi-final.

The Moors have frozen admission prices at regular season levels: £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £3 for children. Spennymoor Town season tickets are not valid for the game.
