Alex Simmons departs Gainsborough

Gainsborough Trinity have confirmed that Alex Simmons has left the club after two seasons to take on a ‘new challenge’ in Australia.

The striker made 75 appearances during his time at the Northolme, scoring nine times and creating countless other chances.

In a statement on the club’s website, Trinity confirmed that Simmons’ international clearance had gone through, thanked him for his services and admitted that the door would remain open for a possible return in the future.
