Ashton bring in Porter

Ashton United have signed central midfielder Adam Porter on loan from Football League side Salford City until the end of the season.

Porter, 20, joined Salford in the summer having previously been with Stoke City’s academy.

He already has some experience in non-league at step 3, having enjoyed a successful loan spell with Southern Premier Division South side Truro City in the current campaign.

There he scored three goals in 16 appearances, and he has previously had loan spells with Leek Town and Altrincham.

A club spokesperson said: “We would like to thank Salford City for facilitating Porter's services and trusting the club to be another progressive step in the development of his career.”

Porter will be in contention to make his debut for Ashton in the weekend’s Northern Premier League game at home to Atherton Collieries.
