Belper reinforced with Burton striker

Belper Town have announced that Burton Albion striker Tom Hewlett will join them on a short-term loan deal.

Hewlett, 20, who has recently battled back from two long-term injuries, played in the Brewers pre-season friendly against Christchurch Meadow.

The young striker progressed through Burton's academy and earned himself a professional contract in 2020.

He made his first team debut in a 3-3 draw against Peterborough in the EFL Trophy in September 2020.

In June, Hewlett signed a new one-year contact extension with the Brewers.

Belper, who were recently promoted to the Northern Premier League Premier Division following their Midland's play-off victory, will be hoping that their new acquisition can bolster their attacking threat ahead of the new season.
