Blackburn goalkeeper makes Macclesfield loan move

Macclesfield have announced the signing of goalkeeper Joe Hilton on loan from Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

Hilton, 24, joined Blackburn in 2019 after coming through the ranks at Everton and Manchester City.

During his time at the Toffees, he made 18 appearances on loan for Northern Premier League side Marine.

In 2021, he joined Fleetwood Town on loan where he made his professional debut in a 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth in the EFL Trophy.

Since then, he has enjoyed loan spells at Scottish Premiership side Ross County and Scottish Championship outfit Hamilton Academical, where he featured 16 times.

Hilton could make his debut for the Silkmen in their next game at home to Marine in the Northern Premier League on Saturday.
