Leek Town

Leek Town's players return for pre-season training tomorrow with a double header of friendlies kicking off in just ten days time, writes Michael Cope.

Around 25 players are expected at Town's first training session at Horton including most of last season's squad. A clutch of new signings and trialists are also to be unveiled by manager Lee Casswell.

Blues travel to Ball Haye Green for their pre-season curtain-raiser on Friday 13 July for a 7.45pm KO. The first match at Harrison Park takes place the following day when Evo-Stik NPL rivals Ilkeston FC are the visitors in a repeat of April's Evo-Stik NPL First Division South play-off final.

Casswell's side follow that with a game against Football League neighbours Crewe Alexandra on Friday 20 July and on Tuesday 31 July they head to North West Counties League outfit Alsager.

Blues fans are advised that the home friendly against Port Vale originally penned in for Saturday 28 July has been postponed and re-scheduled for Wednesday 1 August. KO 7.45pm.

Leek then travel to Buxton on Saturday 4 August and complete their friendly programme with the visit of Evo-Stik NPL Premier new boys AFC Fylde on Saturday 11 August.
