Blues boost backroom

Leek Town

Leek Town have strengthened their backroom staff with the appointment of a new qualified physio and an assistant groundsman.

Current club physio Ken Ashford is teaming up with new man Kevin Brown for the upcoming season to ensure manager Lee Casswell's stars are in the best possible shape throughout their Evo-Stik First Division South campaign.

Brown, born and bred in Leek, studied for his degree in Sports Science at Essex University. After moving back to North Staffordshire he landed a second degree from Keele University and the physio is currently learning his trade at the Haywood Hospital in Stoke.

Former Kidsgrove Athletic groundsman Ian Cooper makes a living maintaining sports pitches in and around the Potteries area and will work alongside long-serving turf expert Chris Hermiston on the playing surfaces at Harrison Park.
