Blues braced for star's exit

Frickley Ahtletic manager Karl Rose is admitting that Inderjeet Aujla may have played his last game for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club.

The 24-year-old has been invited to train with Conference Premier outfit Forest Green Rovers and Rose told the Hemsworth & South Elmsall Express that he won't be surprised if non-contracted Aujla moves on.

The former Bradford City youth player has just come back from a two-week trial at Leeds United after impressing scouts with his performances for the Blues. While the midfielder's chances of securing a full-time deal with the Championship club were always slim, Rose reckons Rovers may take a chance on him and he won't stand in his player's way.

Rose said: "He’s been training with them and I think he’s going to play for them. Indy wants to play as high up the league ladder as he can and you can’t blame him for that. He put out the story about him having a trial with Leeds and I think that’s probably caught the attention of other clubs."

Aujla was suspended for Frickley’s 4-2 defeat at Blyth Spartans last Saturday and wasn’t involved for the South Elmsall side in their clash with Stocksbridge Park Steels on Tuesday night when they bounced back to win 4-2 themselves.

Frickley are away to Buxton in the league on Saturday.
