Leek Town’s Harrison Park stadium is in line to maintain its ‘C’ grading when ongoing refurbishment work is completed.
The Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Blues were awarded a £21,925 grant by the The Football Stadia Improvement Fund to install new pitchside perimeter fencing and passed muster after an inspection by FA officials. Leek were given the green light subject to the redevelopment, which is behind schedule, being completed.
The Blues say contractors expect to have finished works, including new dugouts, within the next three weeks after excavation problems. Until then, sections of Harrison Park will be cordoned off for safety reasons.
As a result of the ground grading inspection, Leek have until the end of March to complete more minor work including an upgrade of the stadium's toilets and facilities for female match officials.
