Bradford Park Avenue sign exciting midfielder on loan

Bradford Park Avenue have confirmed the arrival of midfielder Connor Shanks from National League North side Spennymoor Town on a one-month loan.

Shanks, 21, began his career in Huddersfield Town's youth ranks before joining Bradford City in 2017.

Turning professional in July 2020, he signed a one-year contract with the Bantams and made his senior debut against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Trophy.

He left the club following the expiration of his contract and returned to Huddersfield in August 2021, enjoying a stint away from the Terriers on loan at Nuneaton Borough during that time.

Shanks’ contract at Huddersfield was terminated in January 2023 and he joined Spennymoor Town two days later.

He made 20 appearances for the Moors in the 2022/23 season, scoring on his debut against Darlington, as well as a last-gasp equaliser against Scarborough Athletic which earned him an extended deal in the summer of 2023.

However, he has made seven appearances for the club this season - five of which have come off the bench - and will now head to West Yorkshire in search of further game time.

The club say Shanks is available for selection immediately and could make his debut against Basford United on Saturday.
