Bucks recruitment campaign goes on

Buxton

Buxton manager Martin McIntosh has added two more new faces to his squad ahead of their final friendly today at Conference North Stalybridge Celtic.

With just over a week to go until the start of the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division campaign, the Buxton Advertiser is reporting that the Bucks have signed signed six-foot-tall ex-Hallam defender Dwayne Wiley, 21, and former Derby County and Ireland youth international Kallum Keane.

Keane, 20, formerly with Alfreton and Belper, played for Hucknall Town and Eastwood Town last season. Either side of the 2011 close season, he was given his chance with the then League One club Exeter City.

The versatile 20-year-old, who has already been seen at right-back, centre-half and in midfield in preseason, is expected to immediately challenge for a regular first-team berth.

Also putting pen to paper is teenage goalkeeper Tom Turner who has returned from his trial with Notts County and U19s left-back Charlie Johnson, who has impressed during several cameo appearances in the warm-up campaign.

The latest signings take the current squad number to 17 with Buxton getting their domestic season underway next Saturday with the curtain-raiser at North Ferriby United.
