By James Gordon

Buxton defender Alex Brown has been selected to participate in a 16-man FA ambassadorial visit to the Falkland Isles in November.

Brown, 20, is the only step three player to be selected, with the rest of the party made up of step four and five players.

He came through the ranks at Sheffield United and represented England C in Dublin last summer, joining the Bucks ahead of this season following trials at Harrogate Town and FC United.

The evening before his departure, Buxton take on Heanor Town in the second round of the Derbyshire Senior Cup on November 6.

Buxton don’t currently have a game scheduled during his trip.

A club statement said: “I’m sure he’ll enjoy and never forget the experience. We wish him well.”

Meanwhile, Buxton have signed Coalville Town striker Tolani Omotola.

Omotola, 20, was previously with Tranmere and has had spells with Witton Albion, Altrincham, Loughborough Dynamo and Burscough.
