Carl Jarrett leaves Marske United

Marske United have announced the departure of manager Carl Jarrett.

Jarrett returned to the club for his third spell as manager in February, replacing Curtis Woodhouse.

He arrived with the Seasiders inside the Northern Premier League relegation zone but steered them to safety after a run of just two defeats in their final 10 league matches.

Such form saw them finish four points and three places above the drop.

Jarrett only re-joined the club on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season, and Marske have now confirmed his departure following "extensive discussions" between the two parties.

A club statement read: "The club have offered both an increased playing and management budget for the 2023/24 season but, regrettably, the management team didn't feel that it met their requirements to build a squad for the upcoming season.

"Marske wish to place on record their sincere thanks and appreciation to Carl, lan Clark and Dave McTiernan for returning to the club in February and achieving the stated aim of avoiding relegation and keeping Marske United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division."
