Champions donating gate to charity

Basford United are donating the gate money from their preseason friendly with EVO-STIK League rivals Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday to local charities.

Officials at the EVO-STIK League Premier Division newboys say supporters can pay what they want at the turnstiles at Greenwich Avenue with all the funds raised going to good causes.

The 3pm kick-off is the final pre-season game for Martin Carruthers and his 2017-18 EVO-STIK League South champions before they start their top flight campaign at Hyde United's Ewen Fields on Saturday week (18 August).
