Champions enjoy their cake!

Basford United tucked into a cake worthy of EVO-STIK League champions after being crowned on Saturday!

The EVO-STIK League South winners thanked the mum of midfielder Fernando Bell-Toxtle with kisses on Twitter alongside a picture of the cake she'd baked for them after collecting their medals and championship trophy from EVO-STIK League secretary Angie Firth and referees' liaison officer John Jones.

Runaway leaders for many months, Martin Curruthers and his champions finally clinched the title on Thursday night with a 5-0 win at Market Drayton Town and were honoured in front of their fans at Greenwich Avenue after beating Lincoln United 3-2 in their final home game of the 2017-18 season.
