Chasetown build player pathway

Chasetown FC have launched a new pathway for footballers to reach the first team.

The new programme will run alongside its existing youth section, which currently offers inclusive football for 40 boys and girls youth teams.

This new pathway will specifically aim to retain, develop and attract local, gifted and talented players to represent the Football Club in the National League System at First team level.

Leading this new era will be Jamie Bunch, who brings a wealth of professional club based development experiences.
Jamie’s background also includes working with Clubs and Governing Bodies in sporting and business development programmes on a national level.

Chasetown FC chairman Steve Jones said: “We are delighted to appoint Jamie to the club. Having someone of Jamie’s experience and knowledge to oversee the transition from youth team to senior football is crucial to the ambitions of Chasetown FC.

“This is one of numerous exciting projects we intend to deliver for Chasetown FC and the wider community which will ensure, as a club we are sustainable, progressive and ultimately successful.

Anthony Fawcett Chairman of Chasetown Youth FC commented: “The youth section at Chasetown FC is thriving as we continue to provide football opportunities for young people of all genders and abilities.

"However, we believe now is the right time to bridge the gap with the senior section of the club and to establish a clear pathway for the most talented players to allow them to fulfil their full potential.

"For us to see these players representing the first team is something we now really believe can be achieved.”

Further details on the implementation of the scheme and dates for open trials will be released soon.
