Hednesford's Keys Park will be resonating to the vocals of the Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir next month.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Pitmen announced on Tuesday that the choir, along with guest soprano Sharron Burns, would be entertaining supporters on Saturday 9 February.

Proceeds from the event, organised on behalf of the Chase Community Fund, will go towards providing grants and funding for community groups in the Cannock Chase area.

Chorister Brian Marks, pictured centre flanked by Hednesford keeper Dan Crane, forward Sean O’Connor and other choristers, is looking forward to their first concert of 2013 after successfully raising £565 for the nearby St Giles Hospice at their Christmas concert.

He said: "It's great to bring the choir to the football club at Keys Park and I'm sure supporters of Hednesford Town will help us in raising money for what is a really worthwhile cause."

Tickets for the event are on sale now, priced at £5.75, and can be purchased by contacting Avril on 01543 684805, Brian on 01922 410209 or from the Hednesford Town commercial office on 01543 422870.

The Pitmen are urging fans to check their website for weather updates ahead of Saturday's trip to Kendal after the postponment of Tuesday's AFC Fylde game became their third straight match to fall victim to the freezing weather.
