Christmas kids tournament kicks off

Nantwich Town's annual Christmas Kids Tournament kicks off at the Weaver Stadium on Friday.

Youngsters are taking centre stage at the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division outfit throughout the day on the 3G pitch when the Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver stage the festive tournament for the second year running.

The Dabbers' Under 8s, 9s and 10s sides are all going head to head with invited teams from the local area.

A Dabbers spokesman said: "Last year it was great to see the likes of Steve Davis, Frank Blunstone and the Mayor coming down to support the event. The tournament kicks off at 10.30am and everyone is welcome to come down and cheer on the young kids."
