Clitheroe continue to build for future

Clitheroe manager David Lynch continues to build his squad with Cole Lonsdale, Terry Cummings, Kielen Adams and Jake Connelly all agreeing to contracts with the club.

Left-back Lonsdale became the most recent player to agree to a contract with the Pitching In Northern Premier League N/West side.

Lonsdale re-joined the Blues last summer after a short spell at NPL North-West Division rivals Workington.

“Cole thoroughly deserves this contract due to his hard work and application away from the club, which has brought him the benefits on the pitch,” said Lynch, who has also signed a long-term deal to stay in charge at Shawbridge.

“His performances have vastly improved from week to week and in particular his one-against-one defending.

“He is now showing signs of becoming the complete full-back. His left foot is as good as anyone’s in non-league and if he continues to keep the standards he demands of himself high in both training and games I have no doubts he will get back to the level of football his ability warrants.”
