Clitheroe in for Pond

Pond, 22, is a former Blackpool youth-team player and scored 23 times in 32 appearances for the North West Counties outfit last season.

Manager Phil Brown said: “He’s a strong, powerful forward who has an eye for goal.

“His hold-up play and awareness is good and he can link the play well.

“He carries a real goal threat as his record clearly shows and will really add to our attacking threat which will be a key strength this season.”
