Confidence is sky high at Blues

After winning their last four games in league and cup competition, including Tuesday night’s 2-1 win at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic, Clitheroe manager Simon Garner says confidence is sky high among his EVO-STIK Northern Premier League squad, writes James Burch.

Garner, pictured, replaced Paul Moore at the Lancashire club last October and the latest win lifted his side to within six points of fifth placed Scarborough Athletic and a play-off berth in the First Division North table.

Garner, whose side host Workington in the FA Trophy on Saturday, said: "Confidence is higher than it’s ever been at the club after our recent run of form. I am really happy with the way we are playing and long may it continue.”

"Every game we win, whether that is in league or cup, carries on our good run. The players are performing so well. So well in fact that there are some top players on the bench that aren’t getting a look in because the first eleven is doing so well.

"I am so proud of the whole team. I’ve got a good headache because I have players knocking on my door that are definitely good enough for the first team who just can’t get into the side because the other boys are playing so well."
