Cunningham hails his new coach

The UEFA B coach at Burnley's academy and at Burnley College, pictured, was named by Cunningham this week ahead of his side's trip to Tadcaster Albion on Saturday in EVO-STIK League North.

Kay arrives with excellent coaching credentials including a degree in coaching and is currently completing the FA Advanced Youth Award and PGCE in Sport.

Cunningham believes the recruitment of Kay at Holt House is a real signal of intent as they target promotion.

He told Reds fans in a club statement: “This is a great coup for the club. Henry is a gifted coach who has already made an impression on the dressing room. He brings a new approach and ideas to the table which can only benefit the team and the club.

“Henry is an enthusiastic as I am about the project we are undertaking at Colne FC, so you can imagine the number of conversations that have already taken place between us. Henry will take the lead on the training ground and will have an input on the team’s style of play.

“We intend to slowly introduce new ideas and methods. The lads in the squad are tough nuts to crack and Henry’s first challenge will be to win their respect. It is an exciting time and I am very much looking forward to working with Henry, building on the foundations that have been built over the last three years."
