Cup final looms for Avenue

Bradford Park Avenue update, by Lewis Sale

Bradford (Park Avenue) prepare for a tough week ahead, but, a chance to win silverware awaits on Wednesday 11th April, as the club face Guiseley in the West Riding County Final at The Coral Windows Stadium, Valley Parade, home of Bradford City.

The Avenue begin their schedule, travelling to Burscough, who are already relegated, on Saturday afternoon. Then, the West Yorkshire side will host Rushall Olympic on Monday afternoon at the Horsfall Stadium. Also, the game will be Bradford's KitAid Collection Day, with the club hoping to donate many football kits to the charity.

Furthermore, Bradford will face Conference North playoff contenders Guiseley in the West Riding County Cup Final. So far, Avenue have seen off lower league sides; Glasshoughton Welfare and Armthorpe Welfare, as well as defeating Harrogate Town, who play in the league above, in the semi final.

Ahead of the game, Bradford (Park Avenue) captain Rob O'Brien commented on the club's appearance in the final:

'We are looking forward to facing Guiseley in The West Riding County Cup Final, as it is a prestigious trophy, plus the final will see two of the best non league teams within the county.'

'So far this season, we have been quite good. I say 'quite' because my ambition was to win the league, but it appears we will be battling for positions within the playoffs. We can still achieve our target to gain promotion.'

'Personally, I have not won a trophy in my three seasons at the club, and I would love to lift a trophy for Bradford (Park Avenue) and our fans.'
