Dabbers entering women's game

Nantwich Town

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Nantwich Town are launching a senior women's side.

The Premier Division outfit have revealed they are now in the process of setting up a senior women's section for the coming 2013-14 campaign. Officials see it as a natural progression for an FA Charter Standard Community Club and are calling on potential players to register their interest.

Based at the Weaver Stadium, Nantwich Town Ladies will be an open age team with coaching provided by FA qualified coaching staff. Matches will take place on Sunday afternoons and, depending on the level of interest shown, the Dabbers will either start by playing friendlies or enter the bottom rung of the national pyramid for women's football in their first season.

Dabbers Football Development Officer Steve Smithies said: "As an FA Charter Standard Community Club it's right that we should have a senior women's team at Nantwich Town. We have younger girls playing at the club and a pathway for their development but it is the logical next step to have our own women's team."
