Daly blow for Shields

Daly, 23, suffered ligament damage in his left knee during last month’s home game against Ashton United.

A club statement said: At this stage, it is too early to determine how long Daly will be out of action.

“The injury will be further assessed in the coming days and weeks and we will update supporters once the full extent is known.

“We wish Luke a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Liam Connell has joined Northern League side Whickham on a month’s loan.
