Danylyk lands quality duo

Leek Town manager Ant Danylyk has boosted his squad for the 2015-16 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League season by agreeing terms with former Crewe Alex defender Toby Mullarkey and Stockport County winger Sam Grimshaw, writes Michael Cope.

Grimshaw, 22, finished last season at Stockport County after also enjoying spells at Southport and Ramsbottom United. He kicked off his career at Manchester City before joining Altrincham and Glossop North End. While with the Hillmen he impressed enough to earn trials at both Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra last summer.

Mullarkey, who can play in either defence or midfield, was on loan at Leek from Crewe Alexandra during the 2014-15 campaign and helped then manager Lee Casswell's side reach the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North play-off final. Pictured last year signing his first professional forms, the 19-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Witton Albion in EVO-STIK NPL First Division North before being released by Crewe.

In further news, Blues’ goalkeeper Chris Martin has committed himself to the club for another season while full-back Ryan Grocott has also agreed terms. Danylyk and his assistant Paul Donnelly are also both set to sign EVO-STIK NPL forms when the registrations window opens on Friday (July 1).
