Declan Bacon joins Mickleover on loan

Bacon, 25, made his debut in a pre-season friendly for Sports against Guiseley AFC, and Mickleover have the option to make the move permanent in the new year.

Left-back Connor Smythe also recently departed the club to join Worksop Town.

On the departures, Gainsborough manager Curtis Woodhouse said: "Connor Smythe has moved on to pursue first team football and Dec Bacon has gone to Mickleover on loan 'till January to help raise some money to reinvest into the team. We currently have twelve players with three of them out injured so we really are threadbare at the moment. Trying to strengthen that is proving really difficult and we are hoping a couple of loans will help us be able to get a squad together ready for the start of our season on September 19th."
