Defender leaves Gainsborough

Gainsborough Trinity have announced that full back Joe Wilson will leave the club by mutual consent.

Wilson, 22, joined the Holy Blues in May 2021 from Ilkeston Town.

The young full back combined his football duties with his studies at the University of Nottingham.

Wilson made 32 appearances last season as Gainsborough finished in 16th place in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Upon the completion of his university studies, Wilson has made the decision to return to his family who live in the south of the UK.

Gainsborough have agreed to cancel the player's contract and wished him all the best for the future.
