Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Ramsbottom United have strengthened their squad with the signing of experienced defender Kelvin Lomax.
The Bury-born defender, pictured, made his debut in the 4-0 victory at Harrogate RA on Saturday following his return from Australia. Lomax, who will be 27 in November, arrived at the Harry Williams Riverside Ground from Aussie outfit Shepparton United.
Having begun his career in Oldham Athletic's youth set-up, he worked his way into the Latics first team, making his debut during in the 2003-04 season. Lomas was at Boundary Park for seven seasons where he made 94 appearances and also enjoyed loan spells with Rochdale and Chesterfield.
He continued his career with a short spell at Shrewsbury Town before joining Barrow and Hyde in the Football Conference ahead of his switch down under last season. His return to England sees him following in the footsteps of his cousin Karl Lomax who previously played for the First Division North club.
