'Delighted to be back' - Sean Cooke reflects on Dabbers return

Nantwich Town have announced midfielder Sean Cooke has returned to the club after leaving Warrington Rylands.

This will be Cooke’s fourth spell at the Swansway Stadium. In his previous spells, he made 343 appearances, and scored 114 goals.

He is also fourth on the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

During his time at The Dabbers, he has won the Cheshire Senior Cup three times, and was part of the only Nantwich side to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup and was also part of the side that reached the semi-finals of the FA Trophy in 2016.

“I’m delighted to be back, " Cooke said. “It’s my hope and ambition that we stay up.

"I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and putting the shirt on.”

Manager Paul Carden added: “I’ve known Sean a long time, he’s well known at the club and well known as one of the best goalscoring attacking midfielders in the league over the last four or five years.

“It became clear he wasn’t going to be featuring at Rylands and we were never going to turn down the opportunity to get someone who’s going to add goals to what we need.”
