Difficult schedule ahead for Avenue

Bradford (Park Avenue) face one of the toughest run of fixtures leading into the New Year, but 'remain confident of keeping pace with the leading pack,' according to Dr John Dean.

The Avenue's weekend clash against Chorley at the Horsfall Stadium was postponed due to a frozen pitch, which was anticipated to be a crucial game in the Evostik Northern Premier Division. Nevertheless, the chairman Dean, has commented that 'Avenue have tended to perform better in the second half of the season, and are already in a very strong position.'

At this stage last season, Bradford were lying towards the lower region of the league ladder, but under the guidance of John Deacey, hit fine form and finished the season 3rd. Therefore, with Avenue sitting in the playoffs, Dean believes that 'the team can bounce back from the defeat at North Ferriby United, and enter these fixtures full of confidence.'

Bradford have to face Rushall Olympic away on Boxing Day and FC United of Manchester in their first fixture of 2012. Furthermore, the game at Horsfall Stadium, which is pay on the gate at 3.00pm after discussions with local authorities, is followed by a daunting trip to Hednesford Town. However, the West Yorkshire outfit 'are looking forward to the ties, which could see Bradford climb the table if the team can get the points.'
