Evo-Stik NPL Fair Play Awards

The overall winners of this season’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Fair Play Awards are expected to be named in the next twenty four hours after AFC Fylde, Radcliffe Borough and Romulus were unveiled as the final winners of this season's monthly competition.

The trio were named on Tuesday as April’s divisional winners after proving to be the best behaved sides over the final weeks of the campaign.

The clubs are now looking forward to being presented with an inscribed certificate recording their achievement and a bottle of Pol Roger Champagne to toast their success before the Evo-Stik NPL’s annual presentation night on Saturday 14 June.

They’ll be joined at Blackpool’s Hilton Hotel by the season’s overall winners as the Evo-Stik NPL celebrates fair play and sportsmanship. Like the monthly winners, they’ll be rewarded for coming out on top in a totting up of red and yellow cards over the entire season divided by the number of Evo-Stik NPL fixtures played. Where clubs are tied on points, marks awarded by referees each month for Technical Area behaviour are taken into account.

April’s winners are all collecting their first fair play honours of the season after being named on Tuesday.

Dave Challinor’s Coasters have undoubtedly proved again that winning and sportsmanship can go hand in hand after taking the Premier Division’s accolade.

In eight league outings on the way to reaching and winning the top flight’s play-offs last weekend, pictured, after their Doodson Sport Cup triumph last month, they collected just four yellow cards to post a disciplinary record of 0.50 points.

First Division North winners Radcliffe Borough also posted a disciplinary record of 0.50 for April after collecting three yellow cards in six outings.

Romulus, the first Division South’s best behaved side, were also the best behaved club across the entire league in April after picking up a single caution in four games to post the lowest disciplinary record of all at just 0.25 points.
