Drury eases Gibson blow

Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Stamford AFC have moved quickly to head off an injury crisis by signing Louis Hamilton from league rivals Loughborough Dynamo.

Daniels manager Graham Drury swooped for Hamilton following news that Jake Gibson could be out for up to six weeks after he was forced off early in Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup defeat at home to Buxton after scoring the opening goal.

Drury said: "Jake could be out for four to six weeks with a knee ligament injury and that is a real shame. I am very disappointed and I hope he will soon be back with us.

"He has forced his way into the side in the last few weeks and done very well, scoring goals, as well as providing them and the quicker he is back with us and fighting fit the better."

Drury believes former Hinckley United and Redditch United wideman Hamilton will be vital while Gibson recovers.

Drury added: "We moved quickly to bring Louis in to fill the void left by Jake's enforced absence. He has pace to burn and is very attack minded, he brings us something a little different to Jake.

"I first came across him at Hinckley and have monitored his progress since. He can play on either flank and he is direct. I thought he was Loughborough's best player against us when we met recently."
