Dunn Surprise Departure at Warrington

Club statement.

WARRINGTON Town are inviting applications for a new manager after parting company with Joey Dunn and his assistant Stuart Humphreys with immediate effect.

The decision was made at a board meeting last night.

In a club statement Chief Executive Richard Sutton said: "These decisions are never easy, particularly when it involves a popular former player such as Joey. On behalf of the board we would like to thank Joey and Stuart for their efforts over the last three seasons. "

The club is looking to appoint a new management team before the end of the season and are open to any applications of interest.

Applications including a CV and letter of application can be made in strictest confidence to Chairman Gary Skentelbery W.T.F.C PO Box 1159 Warrington, WA4 2RS Closing date March 27.

Operations director Toby Macormac has been put in temporary charge of player affairs.

The club's ambitions are to eventually bring football league status to the town.
