Dynamo start cup defence

Loughborough Dynamo

Loughborough Hospital Charity Cup holders Loughborough Dynamo have been drawn at home against Sileby Town for the second successive season.

Former Evo-Stik NPL outfits Quorn and Shepshed Dynamo are also back in the opening games of this season’s annual eight club competition, Quorn taking on Barrow Town at home and Loughborough FC away to Hathern.

The Loughborough Hospital Charity Cup was first played in 1899 when Loughborough Emmanuel beat Quorn Havelock 2-0. The competition raises funds through gate receipts and raffles for local charities.

The proceeds from last season were donated to a number of good causes in the area - The League of Friends of Loughborough Hospital, Rainbows, John Storer House, Ashmount School and Glebe House Project.

As winners, Dynamo donated a share of the funds to their chosen charity, the East Midlands Air Ambulance Service.

Dates for all matches to be arranged.
