Early Christmas gift for the Robins

Ashton United have signed Macclesfield playmaker Joe Bunney on a three-month loan deal.

He will bring some Football League experience to Hurst Cross, having previously featured for Rochdale, Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers.

Prior to his departure, Bunney had made 25 appearances for the Silkmen over the course of the current season.

He leaves the Pitching In NPL West Division leaders to join a Robins side currently 12th in the Northern Premier League ahead of their Boxing Day trip to FC United of Manchester.

In other news, Ashton United have also confirmed that goalkeeper Greg Hartley is set to be out of action for up to a month after suffering a knee injury in their recent 3-3 draw with South Shields.
