Coalville Town will have been mightily relieved when they returned to the dressing room on Easter Monday having only managed a 1-1 home draw with mid-table Gresley FC to discover that second-placed King's Lynn Town had been beaten, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Marc Goodfellow gave the Moatmen a 36th minute lead at Owen Street that they held until seven minutes from time when Josh Hill pulled the leaders back on level terms.

Lynn went down to a 4-1 defeat at Kettering Road to play-off contenders Stamford AFC – ending a fifteen-game unbeaten run. In front of a crowd of 583, Stamford returned to winning ways, thanks to goals from Liam Richardson after 19 minutes, Andy Hall just before the break, Jordan Hempenstall five minutes after it and Ricky Miller eight minutes from time. Russell Dunkley netted a consolation for the visitors, while the Daniels finished with ten-men after Tom Batchelor was sent-off in the dying seconds for two bookable offences.

Belper Town sandwich Lynn and Stamford in third place, but they had to be content with a goalless draw at struggling Mickleover Sports.

Sutton Coldfield Town occupy the other play-off spot but they too dropped two points in a 1-1 Coles Lane draw with tenants Romulus, whose Graham Deakin opened the scoring after 24 minutes before Lee Parsons equalised right on half-time.

Chasetown made the most of the Royals' slip by winning 3-0 at The Scholars against another contender, Halesowen Town. Theo Robinson bagged a brace for the hosts in the 13th and 59th minutes with Paul Sullivan adding a late third.

The Scholars head the Yeltz by two points and Sutton Coldfield by four with a game in hand.

Northwich Victoria and Leek Town still have a mathematical chance of a top five finish but neither really wanted Monday's 1-1 draw at Harrison Park in which Joe Bunney gave Vics an 11th minute lead that Lee Morris cancelled out 11 minutes from time.

Elsewhere, a brace from Liam Davis earned Brigg Town a 2-0 win in the Lincolnshire derby against Lincoln United at the Hawthorns, while Sheffield FC beat Kidsgrove Athletic 3-0 with Jonathan Muldoon bagging two after an opener from Joel Purkiss.

Market Drayton Town beat Newcastle Town 3-1 in Shropshire with goals from Martyn Davies – another to bag a brace – and Kyle Blake with Tim Sanders replying.

Carlton Town and Rainworth Miners Welfare shared a goalless Nottinghamshire derby draw while bottom-markers Hucknall Town suffered a 7-1 Watnall Road hammering at the hands of Loughborough Dynamo. Matt Langham netted a hat-trick for the visitors with Reece Lester, Tristram Whitman and Rob Norris adding singles.
