Belford, 30, spent six seasons at Bury and has also played for Southend, Accrington, Mansfield, Swindon and Wrexham.
He was among the substitutes during FC United’s FA Cup defeat at home to Warrington Town on Saturday.
Manager Neil Reynolds said "I’m always looking to add the right quality to the squad and I’m delighted to be able to bring Cam Belford in on loan, it’s about having competition all over the pitch, Paddy has been exceptional this season, one of our best players in fact, but as we’ve seen this season injuries can strike and we need to make sure we’ve got the depth to cope with whatever gets thrown at us.”
