Walker made his mark at the New Manor Ground during this season’s superb run to the third round proper of the FA Youth Cup and an heroic 3-2 exit at the hands of Newcastle United's youngsters before Christmas. In his five appearances he scored six goals, two of them coming against Shrewsbury Town in the second round.
First called up in October to Andy Watson’s first-team squad after his showing in the FA Youth Cup, the teenager made his debut as a second half substitute in a 2-1 home win over Grantham Town and his full debut in the 1-1 draw with Stocksbridge Park Steels in the FA Trophy's second qualifying round in November. In total, Walker made six first-team appearances, four as a substitute, and scored one goal.
