The former Clipstone and Staveley Miners Welfare boss, who replaced Andy Kiwomya in February 2016, left The BT Local Stadium after his side's 15th-placed finish to the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL First Division South season following a 1-0 reverse at Witton Albion on Saturday's final day of the campaign.
Club confirmed the departure of their Sheffield-born manager, pictured, who was also player-assistant manager at Frickley Athletic and Worksop Town and turned out for a number of other clubs including Belper Town, Ilkeston FC and Stocksbridge Park Steels after kicking off his playing career at Rotherham United, in a short statement.
A spokesman said: "Sheffield FC report today the resignation of men's first team manager James Colliver. The club would like to thank James and his staff for all their efforts of the past season and a half and wish them all the best for the future. The club will make announcements later in the week on the appointment of a new management team."
