Black signs new deal with Belper

Grant Black has signed a new deal to remain manager at Belper Town until the end of the 2021/22 season.

He was appointed as the Nailers first team manager in May 2018 following the departure of Aaron Webster

“After the management team and the club had received a few enquiries about our availability, my staff and I sat down with the club after lockdown had ended and had a great meeting," said Black.

“It was a very quick decision and based on many factors as we wanted to commit ourselves to Belper Town, moving forward.

“Last season was a fantastic experience and really invigorated both the club and the whole area and seeing how that all came together and the way the town fell in love with the club all over again, really made our decision easy.

“The club has so many amazing people that work tirelessly hard to make it a better place - from the ladies in the sponsors lounge to the lads and lasses on the turnstiles, to the kit man and all the other volunteers - it's a special place.

“Add to that a chairman and a set of directors who just keep working so hard to build a superb ground and facilities to make Belper a great club to play for is also a key aspect.

“The fans were fantastic last season, turning up in great numbers in attendances and the way they supported us was another key factor.

“We really feel on and off the pitch that we are building something special and we wanted to show loyalty to the club in the same way it has shown it to us. Together, we feel that we can take the club to where has the potential to be.

“The club obviously feels that stability can help this and we are proud to commit ourselves to Belper Town and as a management team we cannot wait to call ourselves Nailers for the upcoming seasons

“Hopefully see you all soon and thank you for your continued support – UTN.”
