End of an era as manager departs

Coalville Town

EVO-STIK League Coalville Town have started the hunt to appoint their first new manager in over eight years after Adam Stevens stepped down.

Stevens, pictured, was thanked on Sunday by the First Division South club's officials for his work at Owen Street since taking over from former manager Brendan Philips back in 2006 and subsequently guiding the Ravens to promotion as Midland Alliance champions and an FA Vase Final appearance at Wembley in 2011 against Whitley Bay.

The former Ravens player also led the Leicestershire club to a first success in the Westerby Cup in 2013 and left at the weekend after two defeats followed a winning start to the new campaign on the opening day.

In a statement posted on their official website, the Ravens said: "Everyone at Coalville would like to thank Adam for leading the club through its most successful period, including a trip to Wembley, a promotion to the EVO-STIK League and two play-offs. We wish him all the best for the future."

Coalville Town chairman Glyn Rennocks is now inviting candidates to succeed Stevens to contact him via email at: glyn.rennocks@silencers.co.uk.
